WrestleMania 33 saw the long-awaited returns of Matt and Jeff Hardy to WWE. The brothers would come out before the Raw Tag Team Championship match and include themselves in the festivities of the show. Many fans were shocked to see them come out as they just wrestled against The Young Bucks at Supercard of Honor the previous night.

Jeff would have Cesaro and Sheamus laid out on a bridged ladder while he proceeded to deliver a Swanton Bomb to the both of them off another ladder. The brothers would capture the Raw Tag Team Championship before moving into a feud against Cesaro and Sheamus for the next couple of months.

SummerSlam 2000 Swanton Bomb

The historic series of matches that Edge & Christian, The Dudley Boyz, and The Hardy Boyz would have against each other started with their first Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at SummerSlam 2000. The match would see all three teams do multiple insane moves like Bubba Ray being tossed into multiple tables ringside off of a ladder.

Impact Wrestling would have their One Night Only Old School event that included a Monster’s Ball match between Jeff Hardy and Abyss. The match saw both men thrown on top of thumbtacks, boards wrapped in barbwire, and tables all through the night.

Toward the end of the match, Hardy would sandwich Abyss between two barbwire-wrapped boards and proceed to perform the Swanton Bomb onto of the boards. Hardy would still have countless thumbtacks driven in his back as he landed the move, but it would secure him the victory.

One of the more insane spots Jeff Hardy performed accidentally resulted in an injury that wasn’t meant to happen. Paul London & Brian Kendrick would put their WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Hardys, MNM, and William Regal & Dave Taylor in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match.

Matt and Jeff would set up a spot with Joey Mercury where Jeff would jump onto a ladder that would spring up and hit Mercury in the head. The move connected a bit too much resulting in Mercury shattering his nose and losing an obscene amount of blood.

Impact Wrestling 2016 Swanton Bomb

The April 19th episode of Impact Wrestling saw an I Quit match between Matt and his brother Jeff. The match saw multiple spots including Matt giving Jeff his signature Side Effect through a steel guard rail and attempting to perform the Twist of Fate while Jeff’s head was locked in a steel chair.

The finish of the match however would see Jeff Hardy lay his brother on a couple of tables near the entranceway while Jeff performed the Swanton Bomb off a staircase leading to an exit of the building. This match and move would lead Matt Hardy into creating his “Broken” character and universe.

WrestleMania 23 Leg Drop

WrestleMania 23 would feature the third annual Money in the Bank ladder match. The match would feature Mr. Kennedy, King Booker, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Finlay, Edge, and The Hardys. As per the stipulation of the match, almost everyone did something absolutely insane with the ladder, but the standouts were Edge and Jeff Hardy.

Matt Hardy would lay Edge on a bridged ladder from the apron and barricade while instructing Jeff to land his signature leg drop on Edge. Jeff would deliver the move from another ladder positioned in the ring. Raw 2008 Swanton Bomb

January 14th, 2008 would see a heated match between Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. The two would brawl their way to the entrance area where Orton would attempt to Punt Kick a downed Hardy before being back body dropped to the floor himself.

Hardy would take advantage of the situation and proceed to climb the truss set around the entrance. Hardy would climb halfway up before deciding to go further, reaching twelve feet high, before landing a Swanton Bomb on the laid-out Orton.

One Night Stand in 2008 would see a Falls Count Anywhere match between Umaga and Jeff Hardy. The match was riddled with unique spots like Hardy sliding down a staircase railing toward Umaga and clotheslining him on the way down.

The two superstars would fight their way all over the arena before finally making their way outside the venue. The finish of the match saw Jeff Hardy push Umaga down from the ladder of an 18-wheeler before Hardy connected his Swanton Bomb off the top of the truck.
